Quite right Andrew. Tacview attached.

Nanny Windows wouldn't let me copy it (of course!). I think that you will need to add an ".acmi" to the end of it for it be recognised as a Tacview file. I also note that it s considerably smaller than my original. Let me know if it doesn't work.

664 Sqn Debrief

This was the first sortie of 664 Sqn in the RAFAir Tuesday missions. We had 1 Apache flying and all targets were destroyed. The Sqn worked in liaison with 97 Sqn, however we were unable to support due to limited fuel endurance at the time of need. Additionally the Apache actually flies slower than an A10, so I would still be flying now to target

Our route was very scenic, with lovely flowers on the hillsides and I was able to peer into some house windows en route. We made a mistake in the waypoints by not adjusting the elevation to ground level and the chosen route took us up a very steep re-entrant; almost crashed here! I was able to maintain a good pop up location and identify the majority of targets and then systematically launch Hellfires to neutralise targets. For future missions a buddy lase joint op would work with the A10 or Harrier, which would be very effective at target acquisition.

Overall a good first mission which opens some ideas for some combined CAS ops/taskings.

Thanks Duke and Shaggy (who got called away last minute).

Arrrrrrgghh I just wrote a massive AAR from 3(F), clicked a link and lost it all. I'm not writing it again  watch Tacview

In summary.

Great mission Duke, difficult, but we all enjoyed it. Loved the staged arrival of Red Air.

Mission success but heavy losses.

8 Mig's destroyed for the loss of 5 F-16's, primary target destroyed.

Great job by CAP, especially Beanie and Jack, cleared the way for the strike flight.

Shame about the comms faf prior to and at the briefing.

Alan for your info, was changed in 2020, see link from 97 Sqn SOP forum:
