Andrew, I tried a quick run of the mission this afternoon. Still no got my TacView set up as yet, so had some problems. Never got near the targets they were north of the built-up area, and appeared to be milling around.

Can I ask you to run this element and make sure that they are following the briefed route and timings.

Understood, i haven't added the triggers yet so they would not have moved. This is the check miz just to check your aircraft are in properly.

I'll get the triggers set up and send you the mission as it will run for 97.

Sorry Andrew. I looked at the mission you sent to me. I suspect that our target has not been set to 'road only'. They appear to be routing directly through the middle of town and thus turning into a monstrous fur-ball.

Alan,

There seems to be a problem making the units travel along the road. They are programmed to do this but leave the road instead. I will continue to look to see what has gone wrong and see if there is a work around. I have added some more targets to the area, these will be stationary, but will disperse under fire, they are MBT's, so if the original targets get stuck or lost you will still have something to shoot at.

Pleas be aware that you will have to Harriers from 1F working to your North East.

Hendo from 1F will be in the gamemaster slot. He will see if he can move units as the mission progresses making it more interesting, but we can't promise anything.

OK Andrew. Don't bust a gut over it. I am sure we will find something to kill.

Andrew I am trying to re-jig the A-10 routes and procedures for tomorrow. We now have around 6 ac scheduled, and, given the congested nature of the area, I would like to establish some firm waypoints, common to all A-10s, and also separate the area into attack zones.

It would help if I could see your final iteration with general target areas and times (preferably in Mission Zulu times. As I say, I will use these to establish 2 or 3 specific IPs and sectors, to allow the sections more freedom to operate.

We will plan to T/O at around 1200Z and route at 7000 ft to coast out pretty much as our original position. I would like to establish a demarcation zone between the 2 semi-autonomous flights, with IPs around 10 nm from the coast. Flt Leaders will be responsible for allocating targets to their Flt members and liaising with the other Flt, as the mission proceeds.

Each A-10 carries 2 Mavericks to knock out any SA-8s and SA-9s, before we get closer in. We can use the RWR to confirm and locate these, and It would not be a problem provided that there are no more than about 6 of them. Total target numbers should be 20-30, but a few more would not be unduly onerous.

I would therefore be grateful if I could see a general layout of the target area together with approximate positions of the targets. If you could let me see this by early tomorrow, I can draw up a flight brief, and establish suitable IPs I would not need to position the IPs on the map, not make any other changes to it.

Obviously, if this is not possible, we can cope with what data we have.

I will be flying with 41F, we have a prompt start and a detailed brief for this mission tonight which I would like to take part in.

Because of this I will be on Discord at 19:20 to answer any questions and give a quick brief.

Cheers
Andrew
