never tried aar in the dark, how did it go? or is it a sore subject?Father Cool wrote: ↑14 Apr 2020, 07:03 It was another great AAR session for me haha.
I was planning to get airbourne hook up and be done. By the time I'd gotten started up and on the catapult the sun had gone down and the rain had set in. I think even the simulated god has it in for my AAR endeavours!

Well I thought sod it I'll give it a go as it was a nice pinky yellow sky. By the time I got in behind the tanker it was pitch black and I only knew it was there because I'd locked it up and I was getting wake turbulance. I couldn't see anything else at all. I assume there is some sort of lighting I missed but it was pointless as I couldn't even see the plane let alone the drogue.john (scooby) wrote: ↑14 Apr 2020, 07:19never tried aar in the dark, how did it go? or is it a sore subject?Father Cool wrote: ↑14 Apr 2020, 07:03 It was another great AAR session for me haha.

Yes I went through the radio procedure.
Still saw nothing, probably should have turned the hud off maybe. Who knows. Not the best conditions to practice though anyway!
