Sorry Rant mode, yea some of those guys & gals, fought for our freedom, and some made the ultimate sacrifice, so some absolute, toerag, lowlife's can break into a foodbank and steal food from people who really need the help from this service.

Let’s all remember the poor buggers who were still fighting and dying in the Pacific theatre too. VJ Day is the more significant day I think. My uncle was one of the forgotten army in Burma, where not only bullets killed you. Bully beef came out of tins in liquid form. And left his rear end much the same way. The tropical diseases like malaria and prickly heat, Japanese hospitality in their prison camps was a bit basic he said, and even the snakes had it in for poor old Uncle Tom!

Is it just me or is anyone else sick of hearing Vera Lynn songs today? I presume the BBC have lost all the Glen Miller tunes?
