Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank

120mm L30 CHARM Rifled main armament
1x 7.62 Coaxial Machine Gun
1x 7.62 General Purpose Machine Gun mounted on the loaders cupola (Not modelled in DCS)
10x Multi barrel smoke grenade dischargers (5 each side of the main armament)


Very easy to recognise by:
The thermal imager sat just above the barrel
6x Road Wheels per track, drive sprocket at the rear and idler wheel under the front mudguard.
The distinctive "British" round headlights used by most British army AFV's

120mm Main Armament
1x 7.62 Coaxial Machine Gun
1x 12.7mm Commanders Machine Gun
10x Multi barrel smoke grenade dischargers (5 each side of the main armament)


Very easy to recognise by:
7x Road wheels per track smaller in comparison with Challenger 2
Frontal sloped armour is "Clean" either side of the Main armament
Has outside "bar armour" style storage around the sides and rear of the turret.

Very easy to recognise by:
8x Multi barrel smoke grenade dischargers either side at the rear of the turret
7x Road wheels evenly spaced per track
Very distinctive V-shaped front turret armour (Mostly seen on Russian T-series tanks and the Israeli Merkava)
The rear of the vehicle is very short in comparison to other NATO tanks

Very easy to recognise by:
"V-Shaped" Turret
12x Multi barrel smoke grenade dischargers (6 each side, high on the turret roof)
Short barrel with the fume extractor at the rear
Overall very short vehicle length

Quite a high and squared turret shape
4x Multi barrel smoke grenade dischargers mid way along the turret sides
Big and rectangular exhausts at the rear of the vehicle

100mm D-10T Rifled Main Armament
1x 7.62mm SGMT Coaxial Machine Gun
1x 12.7mm DShK Anti-Aircraft Machine Gun


Very easy to recognise by:
Rounded Turret seen on a lot of Russian MBT's up to the T80U
Fume extractor at the very front of the barrel
5x Road wheels, drive sprocket at the real with a front idler - prominent gap between front pair of road wheels.

Very easy to recognise by:
Fume Extractor mid way down the barrel
"Frying pan" style turret shape

Reactive armour blocks all over the vehicle body

Very easy to recognise by:
Drivers has 3x periscopes, mounted slightly high and central between the headlights
4x Multi barrel smoke grenade dischargers either side of the turret facing forward
"Frying pan" style turret shape
Snorkel mounted to the rear of the turret for storage

1x 9K119M "Reflex-M" ATGM

Very easy to recognise by:
"SHTORA" defense system mouthed either side of the Main armament (the two black "eyes" either side of the gun) this is to disrupt incoming lasers and rangefinders.
"V-Shaped Turret" now introduced to this era of Russian T-series MBT
Still has the snorkel mount at the rear of the tanks turret
very low profile in comparison to other Russian MBT's

Very easy to recognise by:
Kit racks around the rear of the turret, and running mid to rear along both sides of the hull
Very distinct engine compartment door to the right of the drivers hatch
2x "box" shaped sights on top of the turret

Very easy to recognise by:
The "Frying pan" shaped turret
The AT-5 Konkurs ATGM launcher is very prominent on the top center of the turret roof
Very wide and "clean" profile of the front of the hull around the drivers compartment
