Tunguska and CMs

Post by Flyco »

I have just read on the ED Forum that the Tunguska missile system uses IR homing with the radar only being use to locate the target and point the missile, prior to launch. It seems genuine.

Perhaps everyone knew this (except me!), and it certainly explains why it proves such a bugger to defeat. From here on I will push out chaff until launch and then flares after launch. Just need to ‘nimble-up’ my thumb to switch programmes, or perhaps push out a mix.

Interesting. I normally set prog D and push out both in limited quantities just to make life easy!
Sometimes stuff is supposed to fall off....sometimes not.
I still can't be sure which... :?

the tunguska missile seems to be seriously hard to shake in general, much harder than other ir missiles, with my tests making them run out of energy is often a better option
