Persian Gulf Generic Mission

Post by Matt »

Hi all, as some of you are aware I have been working on the Generic Mission based on the ever popular Persian Gulf map, so far it has had its basic functions tested by myself and some of our pilots and is working well!

It has been based around a Iran (bolstered by the Russians for unit diversity) vs NATO style scenario therefore you can expect to see F14A, F4E and Migs on your RWR's!

So far it is very basic in what it is, with 4 red air pairs, 3 air to ground strikes of varying difficulty and a Range. it will support the A10C, F18, Av8b, F14, F16, Huey and KA50 on the blue side and Mig29, F14 and Mig21 on the Redfor. however much like I grew the Caucasus mission I will do the same with this if you guys enjoy flying it!

All aircraft are pre-programmed with Al Minhad and Range Golf as waypoints. all ground AI units will respawn every 3 hours of playtime.

i have will be setting it up on the server for a few days for testing, feel free to jump on and tell me what you think!

Tried it this morning, just hit Range Golf, weapons performed as should, 22 targets destroyed. everything seemed to function as it should. I was having a ball.

Nice job, Matt

Great stuff, it's always this phase of creating the generic mission where the bugs come out......hopefully not too many as I have refined the lessons learned from the Caucasus mission!

Matt just flew Iranian QRA Aircraft submission, went great.

I did notice when RTB, I tuned my Tacan to 99X, but it was pointing 45 degrees to my right, when Al Minhad was at my 12 O'Clock.

Just thought I'd let you know.

That's sadly nothing I can do anything about, with Minhad I'm sure the Tacan station of situated offset to the airfield...which would somewhat explain it.

however I could be wrong.

Quick bug fix, the red F14 pilots had taxiing issues similar to Phil on armageddon the other night and had ended up nose to nose with nowhere to go.....therefore them never making it in the air!

Issue has been fixed so expect Phoenix missiles inbound if you get with 26nm from the coast if Iran (26nm is the danger area where all red pilots will actively engage blue forces if the breach that range)

Also all main bases now have the addition of Rapier air defence sites!
