Pilot Officer Lars ' Cactus ' Schumacher XI Sqdn Flying Vultures. This officer has displayed fine qualities as a fighter pilot combined with leadership and talent for organisation. He has played a large part in raising and maintaining a high standard of operational efficiency in his Squadron which has greatly distinguished itself during recent operations in Georgia and more recently in Syria. Throughout, Pilot Officer Lars ' Cactus ' Schumacher has set an excellent example. His latest enemy action over Syria whilst providing Escort / CAP duties for a deep strike mission saw him down at least 10 enemy aircraft. for this action and previous exploits he has been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Promoted to Flt Lt within his current Squadron
