I am pleased to announce that Neal 0414 will be promoted to 2nd in command of 60 Squadron. Neal has helped set 60 Squadron on the right path, helping others, leading flights and writing missions.

Being made 2nd in command in NOT a promotion and should not be seen as such... it is in reality just an acknowledgement of what he has been doing.
Do the job right is what I say... @Niel & @Richard... the way we set up 60 SQN we left rank as such out of it because all had a primary SQN however the roles and responsibility are just as great not witht he numbers as any main SQN.
I respectfully suggest that if CO 97 SQN has no objections that consideration be given to promoting Andrew to Squadron Leader and wee Neal to Flight Lieutenant.

Agreed.
I am sure the fixed wing squadrons will be happy to support the move.
60Squadron is now being given the same status as all the other Squadrons, but will continue to have pilots who are also members of fixed wing squadrons too.
