Re: Training nights
In prep for Op Portcullis, I suggest we fly defence of our airbase, with a setup for fast start up and scramble. I am told we will be providing QRF cover - at least - initially.

Re: Training nights
As a follow up to last night’s mission I have done some reading and viewing regarding the radar system and have a few pointers to pass on next time we practice air to air.
Also, we have had a discussion regarding having Bill’s grandson join us. As long as he remains in the Squadron Teamspeak channel, and is chaperoned by Bill, we can welcome him to the Squadron with the caveat that we can all be careful to keep our language clean of course.
So Bill, when he is ready, we can enrol him.

Re: Training nights
Thanks Neil. Probably a few months away but good to know.
I watched Overkill's RWS radar tutorial today, full of jems, but Chris checkout at time 07:50 onwards, contact repetition time. Default is 16 secs. When you watch that, it is EXACTLY why we thought we were surrounded by so much red air!!!

Re: Training nights
It is good, but out of date as there are a lot of features missing in this video.
We could do with fundamentals of how radars work and their weaknesses and blind spots too.
Still searching for the right series.

Re: Training nights
After a discussion during the debrief post Op Salamander, we have decided to move the training night from Wednesday to Thursday to enable more pilots to attend.
This will take effect immediately, with the additional provision of 0ne to one training sessions becoming available on Wednesday nights on request. Both myself and Chris will be happy to support your training in any way needed.

Re: Training nights
Can you add me to the Thursday training nights please, I don't think I'll be able to make this week.
I've had the FA/18 a long time and would like to get to grips with it properly. I have been practicing my Case 1 landings.
