Autopilot Temp Fix for A-10

Post by Paul(Dragon)0043 » 17 Jul 2020, 05:40

Guy's just found this on DCS Forum

To get your Autopilot Engage/Disengage button working again, Rebind HOTAS Left Throttle Button to the button you engaged your autopilot with. Worked for me. Couldn't engage autopilot once with last night flight with original binding.

Also note: some of the switches have been reversed with mouse button clicks.

A quick dig into the innards of DCS, suggests that the problem almost certainly arises from an update by DCS of a number of .dll files - for the A-10C and other ac.

Some of the 'quick fixes' are not really attractive to me, since I have a largely hard-wired cockpit and Helios. I am resigned to waiting for DCS to fix it. With age gradually gobbling up my ' little grey cells' I do not intend to learn a whole new way to operate the various aircraft. Particularly if it is likely to revert to normal quite soon.

It would just be nice if DCS would put up a 'Sorry - fix in hand' notice as soon as a problem comes to light. How long would that take them to do that? The old adage 'Never apologise - never explain' has never appealed to me.

And I suppose that's the problem with Beta. It works and sometimes it doesn't.

The latest DCS update rectifies the autopilot issue. I've just cancelled the workaround. All now working as expected.

for problems like this, rebinding the same control often fixes it
