CAT Launch
CAT Launch
Thought I would try a CAT launch this morning and to my shock it worked first time. They must of fixed it in the last update but didnt mention it.

CAT 1, Have a go yourself and let me know if it worked. Going to give it another go in a bit just to make sure it's not a one off

Re: CAT Launch
That's good because CAT 1 was the one I always had trouble with.
Have you had any trouble launching AIM 54's?

I've never been able to launch from cat one since that update. Haven't tried the AIM's yet.Father Cool wrote: ↑03 Apr 2020, 09:42 That's good because CAT 1 was the one I always had trouble with.

Re: CAT Launch
I have been, ever since 2.5.6 dropped, unable to reliably fire AIM 54's in TWS mode. They just refuse to come off the rail. It would be good if this is fixed.

Did another flight this morning to check Aim54. They worked fine splashed, one bandit with one.

Re: CAT Launch
I am trying to cobble together a mission for next week. I do not have the F-14, so can someone definitively tell me:
Can the F-14 successfully launch off the Carl Vinson and/or Stennis?
Can it fire all its range of AIMs?
What is the best time it can do on CAP, and what is the optimum AIM/Tank loadout to achieve this?
Thank you.

Re: CAT Launch
Hi Alan, never tried to launch from the Carl Vinson. Can give it a try later.
All missiles launch fine, the usual loadout for CAP is 4x AIM54C, 2x AIM7MH and 2x AIM9M however we have on occation gone for 6x AIM54C as the Pheonix is also pretty effective close range if need be.
With bags the F-14 is good for 2 hours plus on CAP provided we dont get into a knife fight.
We do have 6 pilots who fly regularly so may need more than one flight?
