Re: Hosting a server
It depends where you call them from and too, there is only one flight of each available, if its tasked elsewhere you have to wait for it to land or be destroyed.

Re: Hosting a server
Fair enough, They never turn up for me anyway and I launched them from as near as I could to the action.
I still feel that trying to go off and take out land targets with zero knowledge of enemy forces or defences makes it very hard. You cannot plan routes in, defence strategies or should you get in the exit strategies as well. I found that you just end up heading out to where your target is, getting lit up by SAMs, CAP patrols etc no way through it all so you either have to RTB or switch to another objective which starts the process all over again.
I still think FOW would be better than nothing at all, at least you can say that the tanker or awacs or whatever is doing recon at the same time which feels better than a blind canvas. hell you could even program in recon drone requests, that would be good.

Update: 22/05/2021
Map seting: Fog of war now enabled
Mission: C130 Airdrops are now possible from the menu under logistics.
This will drop either troops, Hawk missile defences or supply crates to airfields.
(this can be made to be player flights but Herculies addon is needed, I think its already in the RafAir adon pack but I need advice on how to install, Ovgme states it overwrights a file already needed by DSMC server side addon)

Re: Hosting a server
Hi Simon,
Great initiative, had a blast earlier, thanks.
If possible could you add 8 F-16's at one base please?
And a suitable tanker for F-16's, KC-135 (not MPRS)
Thanks Again

Re: Hosting a server
Hi Danny
I did see you were on earlier, im still tinkering with the server and mission, lots to do yet.
There is already a KC135 (not MPRS) that launches from Incerlik, flys a patern between Mercin in Southern Turkey to a position to the south of Cyprus, TACAN 14Y
There are now 8 F16CM bl.50 at Incerlik for you, Let me know if you have any issues.

Re: Hosting a server
Nice one thanks buddy.
Yeah that tanker is flying at A10 speeds, too slow for F-16. Needs to be at 420 TAS iirc
Just had another fly, ATIS at incirlik is inop

Re: Hosting a server
Hi Danny
KC135 (not MPRS) speed has been changed.
Not sure how to fix the Atis, will have to take a look over the next few days.
Website with live map was causing issues so dropped it, will take another look at a later date

Re: Hosting a server
Telson's Persistent mission server.
Now I have a lot better understanding on how the persistent mission I have been using works, I am looking at making a brand new mission for RAFAIR.
The mission will be a persistent mission based on Syria in 1999.
Protaganists: Syria, Lebanon. Supported by but not participated: Iraq, Russia
Alied: U.S.A, UK, France, Isreal, Turkey.
Neutral: Jordan
Aircraft numbers, vehicles and troops will be limited based on 1999 numbers on both sides and resupplied based on available resupply chains and speeds at the time.
I could do with some help to testing the mission once I get it sorted, firstly I would like to test witht for RAFAIR, but if it works, I would like to open the mission the public as PVP and give not only RAFAIR a challenge outside of mission night, but also show the public what we are capable of.
The mission will use logistics and supply chains on both sides, maintaining the supply chain is imperative, reducing the enemies capability to fight and maintain their support lines is the goal.
I'm looking at running this on a monthly basis starting on the first of the month and winners (Bragging rights) being announced at the end of the month.
I would like if possible to have a league table of kills on the RAFAIR website updated daily, maybe one table for Air to Air Kills and another for Air to Ground Kills and recognition displayed somewhere prominent.
Let me know what you think, good idea, don't talk shite, are you F&*King joking, all opinions welcome.
Any help available with the setup, implementation and story line is welcome.
